On November 15, at 19:00 the Exhibition of Baltic Illustration and Comics artist - Trīs Mazās Māsas (Three Little Sisters), is opening.
This exciting event will take place at fantastic new place in Riga- Tasty Shop (1 Martas Street, Riga).
The Baltic states unlike for example Western European countries or the US, don't have a big tradition of illustration and comic art. Nevertheless Latvian comics magazine KUŠ! and Tasty Shop gathered 17 young artists from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania to present some of their newest artworks. In all these countries illustration and comic art is only recently starting to become more popular and recognized. So these artists can be looked as some kind of pioneers in their country and several of them were already published or exhibited abroad, where illustration art has wider recognition.
We all are happy to present artist of all Baltic states, because even though we are so close together, like neighbours or sisters, we don't know much about eachother and hopefully through this exhibition we can spark some new collaboration.
